I like to describe our business as old school plumbers, licensed to do everything. Over the past 15 years our concentration has been on metal roof fixing with storm recovery work representing about 80% of our work. Over the last 5 years we have been doing this work with HBI Australia.

Our work with HBI Australia covers from Foster, out west to Gloucester, up as far as Maxville and out to Coffs Harbour.

Storms are less seasonal now and they are more intense which is keeping us and other tradies a lot busier with repair work. The work we do for HBI Australia is roof repairs following hail damage, trees falling onto a house, high winds etc.

I first heard about HBI Australia through a builder friend of mine who was a trade partner, and suggested I get in touch with them. Ever since everything has gone really well. They are great to deal with and they send us plenty of work.

The process too is simple, HBI Australia send us a purchase order for a job through their portal, we check it out, accept or reject (which rarely happens) and off we go.

One of the things I really like about working with HBI Australia is that we don’t have to work directly with commercial builders. They are hard to deal with, they are demanding, and often issues arise. With HBI Australia the site is orderly with not too many tradies on site at any one time, and if there is a problem, we can speak to HBI Australia directly. There is no “blame game” going on which reduces stress and means we can just get on with the job. It’s a teamwork thing, HBI Australia help us, we help them, and together we are helping the owner of the property.

I have found working with HBI Australia that there is more travel required, as you need to go where the storms have occurred, however this is not a big deal for us. I would have no worries recommending HBI Australia to other tradies.

For me, I like that the process to getting jobs from HBI Australia is hassle free, the focus on one part of the business, and it’s also very rewarding work. Losing your roof is a big deal so it is great that we can get in, get the job done, and give people back their homes.
