The challenge

The Richmond Christian College applied for government funding to enable a joint venture project to provide a music and art room and attached cola and amenities block for the high school section of the college known throughout the project as Stage 2. The college had been battling growth and limited space for pupils and identified Stage 3 (attached to the Cola of Stage 2) as an investment into the College’s growth that would enable learning areas for years 3 and 4. The challenge was how to fund this area as a combined build with the high school’s music and art room and Cola and amenities. A budget was set according to the College’s projected growth and income and the forecast cost of Stage 3 combined. HBI Australia worked intimately with the College to firstly create the design and construct budget, then compare the building cost budget against real available funds.

The result

Through our understanding of the College’s needs HBI Australia was able to deliver Stage 2 and the adjoining Stage 3 within budget enabling the College to look to further growth and investment into facilities for the pupils.
